Job summary

Allied Universal in Boise, ID is seeking a Security Officer Screening Specialist to help manage access, verify credentials, greet visitors, and maintain a professional, secure environment at a technology-focused site.

This full-time role offers $19 per hour, a consistent 12:00 PM–08:00 PM schedule, and opportunities for training, advancement, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology-focused location while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and access screening requirements.
• Screen individuals and authorized items entering designated areas in accordance with established policies, escalating irregularities through appropriate channels.
• Verify identification, credentials, visitor authorization, and delivery documentation before permitting access to controlled areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following site‑specific emergency response procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entry points, business areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and report observations.
