Job summary

Allied Universal in Boise, ID is seeking a Security Officer - Access Systems Operator to manage entry points, verify credentials, and monitor access, ensuring a welcoming, secure environment for employees and visitors.

This full-time role at $19.00 per hour includes a day/evening schedule and opportunities for ongoing training and career growth within Allied Universal.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and employees while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and access-control policies.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorizations, maintain entry records, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, business areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Communicate professionally with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership regarding incidents, policy violations, and access-control needs.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• At this site, there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
