Job summary

Allied Universal in Boise, ID, is seeking a Part Time Security Officer (Screener) to support access control, screen visitors, and maintain a safe, professional environment. You will interact with employees, guests, and contractors, and contribute to incident responses and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid experience is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required under laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific security procedures.
• Screen individuals, belongings, packages, and deliveries in line with site requirements and escalate concerns.
• Verify identification, access credentials, and visitor/contractor authorization before entry to controlled areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations with calm, problem-solving communication to site contacts and responders.
• Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify concerns.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue: 04:00 AM - 12:00 PM
• Wed: 04:00 AM - 12:00 PM
• Fri: 04:00 AM - 12:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Screen individuals, personal belongings, packages, and deliveries in accordance with site requirements, escalating prohibited or suspicious items and/or access concerns through established protocols.
• Verify identification, access credentials, visitor authorization, and contractor documentation before permitting entry to controlled areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating with appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entry points, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid experience is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
