Job summary

Allied Universal in Bronx, NY is seeking a Part Time Security Officer for a residential building. You will provide customer service to residents and staff, patrol interior and exterior areas, monitor access points, and respond to incidents with professionalism.

The role offers flexible day and evening shifts, a pay rate of $18.58 per hour, and opportunities to learn our Shift-claim platform and grow within a supportive, safety‑minded team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or vendors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a residential care location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, entrances, common spaces, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and maintain required logs and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate site personnel and/or emergency responders when needed.
• Support a welcoming and respectful environment by communicating professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds and following procedures related to resident privacy and dignity.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
