Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer (Part Time, Unarmed) in New York, NY. You will patrol government residential services locations, deter incidents, and provide excellent customer service while maintaining a visible presence on site.

Day and night shifts are available in a part-time role. The position requires a NYS Security Guard License, at least 1 year of security experience, and the ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Monitor access points and visitor activity; report irregularities to staff.
• Prepare accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and partner agencies by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government residential services location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site personnel and emergency responders as directed by procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior areas, exterior grounds, entrances, and perimeter to help identify and report unauthorized activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures; maintain awareness of authorized entry requirements and report irregularities to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
