Job summary

Allied Universal, North America's leading security and facility services company, seeks a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer for patrol and incident assessment at a major rail/transit site in New York, NY. You will provide courteous customer service to passengers and staff while maintaining a visible security presence and following site procedures.

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and regulations.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities at rail transportation locations.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of platforms, stations, parking areas, facilities, and perimeter areas to help identify and report suspicious activity, hazards, and unauthorized access.
• Monitor entrances, exits, transit areas, and assigned facilities; verify credentials and direct authorized individuals in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, service disruptions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document observations according to established procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, patrols, unusual conditions, and security-related activities while maintaining professional communication with the public and site representatives.

• Mon 06:30 AM - 02:30 PM
• Tue 06:30 AM - 02:30 PM
• Wed 10:30 PM - 06:30 AM

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
