Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer to protect and assist clients, visitors, and employees at a technology, media, and telecommunications site in Washington, DC. You will perform security-related procedures, monitor access, and respond to incidents with calm, professional judgment.

Qualifications include 1+ year security experience, ability to pass background checks, and a high school diploma. CPR/First Aid preferred; lifting up to 20 pounds may be required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen in accordance with laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; document and report observations according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the business, perimeter, parking areas, entry points, and common areas to help identify unusual activity and support adherence to site policies.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and assist with maintaining an orderly environment for employees, contractors, and guests.

• Fri: 09:30 AM - 06:00 PM
• Sat: 09:30 AM - 06:00 PM
• Sun: 09:30 AM - 06:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
