Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol) in Washington, DC. You will perform routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, monitor access points, and assist visitors and staff while delivering excellent customer service.

This role offers flexible daytime-to-night shifts, opportunities for growth, and a chance to contribute to a safe, secure environment at a major retail location.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access Control/Badge experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and staff while following site procedures.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of retail common areas, storefronts, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter.
• Respond to incidents calmly and follow site protocols.
• Monitor access points and observe activity per location requirements.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and communicate incidents to appropriate personnel.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and retail personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail common areas, storefronts, entrances, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergency situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, vendor, and delivery activity in accordance with location requirements.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and promptly communicate incidents, hazards, and security-related concerns to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
• Customer Service Experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
