Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to guests, visitors, and employees while carrying out security-related procedures and emergency responses.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of hotel public areas, guest floors, entrances, parking areas, service corridors, and the property perimeter.
• Respond to incidents, guest concerns, and critical situations calmly and following site procedures.
• Monitor access points and observe activity, reporting suspicious behavior and maintenance concerns to hotel personnel and Allied Universal leadership.
• Maintain accurate logs, patrol records, and incident reports with professional communication to hotel management and responding services.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Response in Washington, DC, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to guests, visitors, and employees while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of hotel public areas, guest floors, entrances, parking areas, service corridors, and the property perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents, guest concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the property, reporting suspicious behavior, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate hotel personnel and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Maintain accurate logs, patrol records, and incident reports while communicating professionally with hotel management, staff, guests, and responding public services personnel.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
