Job summary

Kennedy Krieger Institute seeks a Security Officer I to safeguard patients, staff, and visitors across Institute facilities. You will enforce security policies, verify ID badges, escort individuals as needed, and monitor access points.

You may conduct investigations and prepare incident reports as part of daily duties. Responsibilities include responding to disturbances, ensuring areas are safe and secure, and assisting with training less experienced security personnel.

Qualifications

• Maryland Security Guard Certification within 30 days of start.
• Class “D” Maryland driver’s license with minimal points may be required depending on location.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and security for patients, employees, contractors, trainees, vendors, and visitors.
• Verify IDs and complete sign-in/out processes for all individuals without Institute-issued IDs.
• Enforce security policies and procedures across the campus.
• Inspect packages entering facilities to prevent contraband and ensure proper authorization.
• Arm/disarm alarms and monitor CCTV systems.
• Assist with investigations and document incidents with detailed reports.
