As Needed & Weekend and Holidays
Interacts with behavioral patients to reduce emotional, physical, and mental stress using verbal and non-verbal de-escalation techniques, and if necessary, utilizing Crisis Prevention Institute physical techniques to control aggressive patients for further therapeutic intervention.
Education & Training: High school diploma or equivalent required. Active BLS certification required. Must achieve Maryland State Police approval and obtain Maryland Security Guard Card within 90 days of hire. Current Maryland Security Guard Card preferred.
Work Experience: At least 1 year of related experience (Law Enforcement, Correctional Officer, or Milieu experience) required.
Skills & Abilities: Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret security reports. Capable of solving practical problems and handling various situations. Able to follow written, oral, or scheduled instructions. Must work well under pressure during emergencies. Excellent service and behavioral de-escalation skills. Ability to physically intervene with aggressive individuals.
