Interacts with behavioral patients to reduce emotional, physical, and mental stress using verbal and non-verbal de-escalation techniques. If necessary, utilizes Crisis Prevention Institute physical techniques to control aggressive patients for further therapeutic intervention.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Active BLS certification required. Must be able to obtain Maryland State Police approval and Maryland Security Guard Card within 90 days of hire. Current Maryland Security Guard Card preferred.
At least one year of related experience (Law Enforcement, Correctional Officer, or Milieu experience) is required. Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret security reports. Capable of solving practical problems and handling various situations. Must interpret instructions in written, oral, or scheduled form. Ability to work well under pressure during emergencies. Possesses strong service excellence and behavioral de-escalation skills. Able to intervene with physically aggressive individuals.
