Allied Universal in Salem, OR is seeking a Security Officer Patrol - Transit to safeguard riders and staff. This unarmed patrol role emphasizes customer service, incident response, and visible presence across transit facilities and platforms.

The position requires a minimum of one year in security, basic reporting skills, and the ability to follow site policies. A Guard Card and CPR are preferred; 18+ and high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 to 21+ depending on role.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and employees while following security procedures.
• Respond to incidents and service disruptions with calm, clear communication to staff and responders.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of transit facilities and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns per site procedures.
• Assist with access control, visitor direction, and enforcement of facility rules.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a public transportation location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assist riders, staff, and visitors with professionalism. Pay Rate: $24.31 / Hour

• Fri 05:45 AM - 01:45 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a public transit location.
• Respond to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating relevant information to appropriate personnel and emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, administrative spaces, and surrounding perimeters to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, prohibited conduct, hazards, and maintenance-related concerns in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Assist with access control, visitor direction, and enforcement of facility rules while maintaining professional, courteous interactions with the public.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Experience using handcuffs, pepper spray, and a baton is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
