Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Emergency Patrol in Aurora, IL. You will serve and safeguard clients in a retail/mall setting, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, and provide courteous customer service to visitors and staff.

This role offers daytime shifts, a pay rate of $23.50 per hour, and access to our Claim a Shift platform. You will respond to incidents calmly, document actions, verify credentials, and support a safe, welcoming environment while

Qualifications

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subjected to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, including entrances, common areas, parking locations, business spaces, and the perimeter.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials, and assist with access-control processes.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting actions taken.
• Help deter unauthorized activity through a visible presence and timely reporting of observations to site leadership.

Job Schedule: DayTime Fri02:00 PM - 10:00 PM Sat02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail or mall location supporting critical technology operations.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, including entrances, common areas, parking locations, business spaces, and the perimeter, while reporting unusual conditions or security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, verify credentials as directed, and assist with access-control processes.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting actions taken.
• Help to deter unauthorized activity through a visible presence, professional interaction, and timely reporting of observations to site leadership.
