Job Description

As a Security Officer Patrol Driver in Merced, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will help maintain a welcoming retail environment through visible unarmed patrols, routine site checks, access control support, and customer-focused communication. This primarily driving post requires a valid driver’s license and offers the opportunity to help deter incidents while supporting visitors, associates, and operations. Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas, to help deter unwanted activity.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, policy violations, and potential hazards, and document observations and incidents in accordance with site requirements.
• Assist with access control, directions, and customer interactions while maintaining a professional presence in a fast-paced retail environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
