Job summary

Allied Universal in Austin, TX is hiring a Security Officer Patrol Driver to serve and safeguard government facilities and other sites. This unarmed post requires a valid driver's license and provides professional customer service in a welcoming team environment.

You will conduct patrols, monitor access, report incidents, and maintain a visible presence to deter hazards. The position is full-time with a pay rate of $22.00 per hour and night shifts on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Respond to incidents, public concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, public areas, parking facilities, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy violations.
• Monitor access points and observe entry and exit activity in accordance with site requirements, assisting with visitor direction and access-control procedures as assigned.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
