Job summary

Allied Universal in Ventura, CA is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer Patrol - Courthouse to safeguard clients and staff across healthcare and government settings. You will provide courteous customer service, conduct routine patrols, monitor access points, and respond to incidents.

This position requires a valid driver’s license and at least two years of security experience; a guard card is preferred. Shifts include Tue 12:00 AM–08:00 AM, Fri 04:00 PM–12:00 AM, Sat 04:00 PM–12:00 AM.

Qualifications

• Two years of security-related experience required.
• Valid driver’s license required in state of location.
• Guard card/license preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds preferred.
• Must be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen as condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous customer service to patients, visitors, staff and the public while following site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances and perimeters.
• Monitor access points and direct visitors to appropriate departments.
• Respond to incidents calmly and coordinate with leadership and site contacts.
• Prepare accurate reports and activity logs and communicate observations.

Pay Rate: $24.53 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and members of the public while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with established site procedures; assist with directing individuals to appropriate departments and services.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and public resources as needed.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and activity logs and communicate observations, incidents, and concerns to Allied Universal leadership and designated site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least two years of security‑related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
