Allied Universal in Boston, MA is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Assistant. This role provides reliable, flexible hours at an assigned site, with the option to earn more by picking up additional shifts through our scheduling platform. Pay rate is $22.05 per hour.

Schedule is DayTime Sat07:00 AM - 03:00 PM. The role supports a path to a full-time schedule up to 40 hours per week, with anchor shifts and a six‑month commitment to the site.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and other stakeholders at a transportation and port-related location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas to identify unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, maintain logs, and report concerns.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies with calm, professional actions and document observations and actions.
• Prepare clear activity and incident reports and follow site procedures.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Assistance in Boston, MA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $22.05 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and other stakeholders by carrying out site‑specific procedures, access‑control protocols, and emergency response activities at a public transportation and port‑related location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, terminals, parking areas, roadways, waterfront‑adjacent areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials as directed, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and report access‑control concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document observations and actions taken.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity and incident reports, communicate professionally with public agencies and site personnel, and follow all applicable post orders and Allied Universal procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
