Position is full time with a pay rate of $15.85 per hour, and a rotating schedule including evenings and weekends. A strong commitment to integrity and safety is required.

As a Security Officer Patrol in Roanoke, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control, and respond to alarms and other site needs. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while contributing to a caring, reliable team that acts with integrity.

Job Schedule:

• Tue: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
• Fri: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Sat: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Sun: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utility location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain accurate security-related logs and reports.
• Report observed hazards, suspicious activity, equipment concerns, and policy violations to site leadership and/or appropriate responders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
