Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for full-time patrol monitoring in Roanoke, VA. You will safeguard clients across utilities and other facilities, maintain a visible security presence, and deliver exceptional customer service while enforcing site policies.

As an unarmed patrol officer at a utilities location, you will monitor, deter unauthorized activity, document incidents, and respond to alarms in a calm, professional manner. Evening shifts included.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at a utilities location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify authorization as directed by site procedures, and document visitor, contractor, and vehicle activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders according to established procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
