Job summary

Allied Universal in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Security Officer Access Control Patrol to serve clients across Retail/Malls and other sites. You will monitor unarmed patrols, maintain a visible presence, assist visitors and employees, and apply site procedures with professionalism.

You will use a computer or tablet to document security activity, respond calmly to incidents, and help deter unauthorized access. Candidates should have a high school diploma and be able to pass background checks and

As a Security Officer Access Control Patrol in Roanoke, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer in a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and assist visitors and employees with professionalism. You will use strong communication and customer service skills while documenting security-related activity through computer or tablet systems. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $16.66 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Thur: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sat: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sun: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail areas, common spaces, entrances, exits, and the surrounding perimeter.
• Observe and report unusual activity, property concerns, and policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Help to deter unauthorized access and disruptive behavior through a professional presence and consistent application of site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
