Job summary

Allied Universal in Charleston, TN is seeking a Security Officer Patrol to protect clients across Retail/Malls and other settings. As an unarmed officer, you will patrol, deter incidents, manage access, and assist visitors and staff while delivering professional service.

The role is full-time with a pay rate of $15.00 per hour. Shifts run DayTime with weekend coverage; you will report incidents, complete daily activity and incident reports, and coordinate with site leadership.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Patrol in Charleston, TN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer in a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and assist customers, visitors, and team members. You will use clear communication and professional service while reporting security-related concerns. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, shoppers, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail common areas, parking areas, entrances, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe activity within the location, and report suspicious activity, hazards, policy violations, and/or maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and contacting emergency services when needed.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and other required documentation while maintaining professional communication with Allied Universal leadership and client representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
