Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Patrol in Brookings, SD, to monitor assigned areas, perform routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents. You will provide customer service to employees and visitors and support a welcoming environment.

Position is full-time with day shifts; pay rate is $18.50 per hour. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, background check, and drug screen. Licensing may be required by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees and visitors by following site procedures and access-control protocols.

• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of production areas, warehouses, and exterior perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, and maintain logs of entries and incidents.
• Observe and report security conditions per site policies.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, warehouses, loading docks, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials for authorized personnel and visitors, and maintain accurate logs of entries, exits, deliveries, and incidents.
• Observe and report security-related conditions, including unsecured doors, damaged fencing, equipment hazards, and unusual activity, in accordance with site-specific policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Preferred: Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
