Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for part-time vehicle patrol at a Wayne, NJ site. The role offers fixed shifts with an option to pick up additional shifts through the scheduling platform, enabling higher earnings while maintaining a reliable base schedule.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation will be conducted as per federal, state, and local laws.
• A drug screen will be conducted as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond to emergencies when required.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally following school/district protocols.
• Conduct regular and random foot and vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity; report suspicious behavior or facility concerns; maintain logs and incident documentation.
• Support a welcoming learning environment by communicating professionally with school personnel, students, visitors, and first responders.

As a Security Officer Part Time Vehicle Patrol in Wayne, NJ, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $16.92 / Hour

Job Schedule: DayTimeMon07:00 AM - 03:30 PMSat03:30 PM - 12:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
