Job summary

Allied Universal® is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced for Wayne, NJ. This flexible role provides reliable hours with the option to pick up extra shifts via the scheduling platform, including a fixed anchor shift and the potential to scale to up to 40 hours per week.

The position requires a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a background check. You’ll protect students, staff and visitors while responding to incidents and performing campus patrols.

• Be able to respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations and other critical events in a calm, professional manner.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive if required by the role.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and other members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at an educational campus location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and public emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to assigned areas, observe visitor activity, verify credentials when required, and provide directions or assistance in accordance with site procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and daily activities; communicate relevant information to supervisors and campus personnel.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Driving Role in Wayne, NJ, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate:

$16.92 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Sun 07:00 AM - 03:30 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
