Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Visibility in Ashburn, VA. This fixed shift position offers reliable hours with the option to pickup additional shifts via our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings up to a 40-hour week.

Pay rate is $18.50 per hour, with a six-month anchor shift commitment. Ideal candidates are 18+ with a high school diploma, willing to undergo background checks and drug screening as required by law.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as per federal, state, and local laws.
• Criminal histories considered per laws.
• Drug screen may be required.
• Licensing requirements per state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner and notify appropriate school personnel and/or emergency responders.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity according to site-specific procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and maintain professional communication with school staff, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership.

DayTimeFri05:30 PM - 09:30 PM How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed. Responsibilities

• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and maintain professional communication with school staff, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
