Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Armed Security Officer at our Norfolk, VA site to provide a visible security presence, patrol assigned areas, monitor access points, and respond calmly to incidents while delivering professional customer service.

Starting pay is $20.50 per hour with a flexible day schedule. Eligible applicants must hold an Armed Guard Card or License, be 21 or older, and pass background and drug-screening requirements.

As an Armed Security Officer supporting an aerospace and defense location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; communicate with site contacts and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, restricted areas, access points, parking areas, and the perimeter, with working conditions that may vary throughout the site.
• Monitor access control points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, and report unusual activity or policy violations according to site procedures.
• Carry authorized equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, and Allied Universal and site-specific policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
