Job summary

Allied Universal in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer with CPR Response duties. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, deter incidents, provide customer service, and maintain a visible security presence at an aerospace and defense location.

This position offers flexible day and night schedules, a pay rate of $19.95 per hour, and the chance to grow with our Shift-Claim platform.

Qualifications

• CPR certification preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
• A Guard Card or license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/locality.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies, including emergency response in an aerospace/defense location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and according to site protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, grounds, entry points, and perimeter areas; identify unusual activity and support site access requirements.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity; verify credentials; maintain logs and incident documentation.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership regarding security concerns and updates.

What You\'ll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, grounds, entry points, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity and support site access requirements.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and maintain accurate logs and incident documentation.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership regarding security-related concerns, incidents, and operational updates.

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR certification is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver\'s license will be required for driving positions only.
