Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed) in Columbus, OH. You will provide customer service, conduct patrols, monitor access, and respond to incidents at a logistics and distribution location.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, drivers, and/or vendors at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of loading areas, trailer yards, parking areas, entry points, and the facility perimeter to help identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Document patrols, observations, incidents, and security-related activities accurately and promptly in accordance with Allied Universal and site reporting requirements.
