Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced (Part Time, Unarmed) for Columbus, OH. You’ll work a fixed anchor shift and may pick up additional shifts through our platform to increase earnings and gain experience across sites.

Pay is $19.50 per hour with a Saturday 4:00 PM to 9:15 PM schedule. The role offers flexibility, income stability, and potential growth toward a fuller schedule as needed.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation will be conducted as required by law.
• Allied Universal considers qualified applicants with criminal histories where allowed by law.
• Drug screen required as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements may be required by local/state laws.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and store personnel while carrying out security-related procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas and entrances.
• Monitor access points and observe activity, reporting suspicious behavior or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents calmly and contact emergency services or leadership when appropriate.
• Complete accurate reports, logs, and shift documentation.

Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol in COLUMBUS, OH, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $19.50 / Hour

Job Schedule: Sat 04:00 PM - 09:15 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and store personnel while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and observe customer and employee activity in accordance with site policies, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established procedures and contacting emergency services and/or site leadership when appropriate.
• Complete accurate reports, logs, and shift documentation related to patrols, incidents, observations, and security‑related activities.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
