Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer (Unarmed) in Playa Vista, CA to perform access-control duties and customer-service tasks in a retail setting. You’ll support shoppers and tenants, patrol indoors and around the perimeter, and respond calmly to incidents.

Shifts are Thur 06:00 AM–02:00 PM and Sat 02:00 PM–10:00 PM; workdays include Thursday and Saturday with morning and afternoon shifts available. Punctuality and a professional image are required.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, and visitors by following site-specific policies and emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter.
• Respond to incidents and maintain a calm, professional demeanor.
• Monitor access points and deter unauthorized entry and theft-related activity.
• Document incidents and patrol findings in site procedures.

Thur 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
Sat 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, and/or visitors by following site-specific policies, security-related procedures, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location to help deter unauthorized entry, theft-related activity, and policy violations.
• Document incidents, patrol findings, and other security-related observations in accordance with site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
