Allied Universal in Washington, DC is seeking a Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer with at least one year of security experience to protect patients, staff, and visitors in a healthcare location.

You will conduct patrols, monitor entrances, support access control, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents while delivering professional customer service. This role offers flexible day shifts and opportunities to explore new assignments via the Claim a Shift platform.

Qualifications

• One year or more of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted as per laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required before employment.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, patients, and vendors while following site procedures.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas to identify unusual activity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, patients, and vendors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including building entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and site information, and report access-control concerns or unauthorized entry attempts.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
