Job summary

Allied Universal in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer to monitor facilities, deter incidents, and provide courteous service to patients, visitors, and staff.

You will conduct patrols, respond to incidents, and maintain a professional presence while following site procedures and contributing to a safe, welcoming environment. Flexible DayTime schedule; the role supports the Claim a Shift platform and prior security or customer service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• A background check and drug screen are required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities within a behavioral health care setting.
• Respond to incidents, behavioral health emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, hazards, and/or unauthorized access.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, assisting with visitor direction and maintaining a professional presence in patient care areas.
• Document incidents, observations, patrol activity, and shift information accurately; communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.

What You'll Do

Minimum Requirements

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
