Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol) in San Jose, CA. The role involves patrolling, providing customer service, and maintaining a secure environment using mobile tools and clear communication.

You will work a part-time schedule with daytime and evening shifts, supporting a tech/media location. Prior security experience and high school diploma are preferred; CPR and guard license are a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security‑related experience is required.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out site‑specific procedures and security‑related policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, offices, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access to the location, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain accurate visitor and incident documentation in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, including contacting appropriate site personnel and/or emergency responders when needed.
• Report observed hazards, maintenance concerns, unusual activity, and security‑related incidents to Allied Universal supervision and site management according to established procedures.

What You'll Do:
