Job summary

Allied Universal in San Jose, CA is seeking a Part Time Security Officer (Unarmed) to patrol, monitor access, and provide customer service at a technology site. The role includes Saturday and Sunday shifts from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM with a pay rate of $22.00 per hour.

You will monitor access points, respond to incidents, and help deter unauthorized access while maintaining a welcoming environment. A high school diploma and security experience are preferred; CPR/First Aid and guard card are a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of security-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Must be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors by carrying out security procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, exterior perimeter, parking areas, and common areas.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, notifying site contacts and responders as needed.
• Deter unauthorized access, theft, and disruption through visible presence and timely reporting.

• Sat 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sun 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, exterior perimeter, parking areas, and common areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate access and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Support a professional and welcoming environment while helping to deter unauthorized access, theft, and disruptive behavior through visible presence and timely reporting.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
