Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer for a technology location in Arlington, VA. You will monitor access points, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a welcoming environment for employees and visitors while responding to alarms and documenting activity.

The role offers flexible scheduling with the Claim a Shift platform to build a shift pattern that fits your life. At least 18 years old, high school diploma, and a background check are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a corporate technology location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office spaces, common areas, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and maintain accurate security-related logs and reports.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership regarding incidents, unusual activity, and operational concerns.

What You’ll Do

Minimum Requirements

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
