As a Security Officer Part Time Area Patrol in Elkridge, MD, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $19.61 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Fri 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sun 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology, media, and telecommunications location while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions, unauthorized activity, and maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access to assigned areas, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and document visitor, contractor, and delivery activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established post orders and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear and accurate activity reports, incident reports, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
