Job summary

Allied Universal in Upper Marlboro, MD is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer to monitor and protect client sites, provide professional customer service, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment.

The role offers a flexible weekend schedule with shifts such as Sat 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM and Sun 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM, with the opportunity to grow through our Claim a Shift platform and smart tools.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfortably using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check in accordance with laws; drug screen where permitted.
• Licensing requirements subject to state/local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols around the business and perimeter.
• Document observations, incidents, and unusual activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Help deter unauthorized activity by maintaining a professional presence and reporting concerns to appropriate personnel.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned property areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control activities. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly with visitors and staff, and contribute to a welcoming environment through teamwork, integrity, and a caring, reliable approach.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $15.00 / Hour

Job Schedule

Sat 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM; Sun 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfortably using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
