Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Screening Technician) in Louisville, KY. You will service clients, screen personnel and belongings, and maintain a visible, welcoming security presence in a fast-paced logistics environment.

This role offers a flexible Part-Time schedule with evening shifts. Prior security or screening experience is beneficial, and you’ll join a culture that prioritizes people, teamwork, and integrity.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check and drug screen as conditions of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific screening procedures and emergency response activities.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, packages, and personal items per access-control requirements at a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor entry/exit points, verify credentials, report unauthorized access or irregular activities to appropriate personnel.
• Respond calmly to incidents and alarms following post instructions and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of designated areas to identify and report security-related concerns.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, packages, and/or personal items in accordance with established access-control and screening requirements for a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorization, and report unauthorized access attempts or irregular activities to the appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post instructions and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, including the facility perimeter, to identify and report security-related concerns, damaged equipment, or policy violations.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
