Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Enhanced Part Time in Boston, MA. This role offers fixed anchor shifts at a designated site with the option to pick up additional shifts via our scheduling platform, designed to increase earnings while maintaining a reliable base schedule.

You will help protect visitors and employees, perform access-control tasks, and respond to incidents with calm professionalism.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public by carrying out security procedures and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Screen visitors, packages, and belongings per access-control procedures and regulations.
• Verify identification, credentials, and authorization for entry and direct individuals accordingly; maintain visitor records.
• Respond to incidents and security concerns calmly and professionally; notify appropriate personnel as directed.
• Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas and report unusual conditions or access-control issues.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Screening in Boston, MA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $23.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Sun 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Screen visitors, packages, and belongings in accordance with established access‑control procedures and applicable regulations.
• Verify identification, credentials, and authorization for entry; direct individuals to appropriate locations and maintain accurate visitor records.
• Respond to incidents, prohibited‑item findings, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and the perimeter, reporting unusual conditions, access‑control concerns, and security‑related incidents.

Minimum Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
