Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Montgomery, NY to provide reliable access control, assist visitors and employees, and help maintain a safe site with flexible hours and opportunities to pick up additional shifts.

The role offers a pay rate of $16.00 - $17.00 per hour, with a fixed anchor shift and the option to claim extra shifts through our scheduling platform to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites.

Qualifications

As a Security Officer Part Time Access in MONTGOMERY, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $16.00 - $17.00 / Hour

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out site‑specific access‑control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control entry and exit points at a logistics and distribution location, verifying credentials, visitor authorization, and delivery appointments in accordance with site procedures.
• Maintain accurate access‑related records, including visitor logs, driver check‑ins, and incident documentation, as required by site policy.
• Respond to access‑control incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns through appropriate channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.

Minimum Requirements

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
