Allied Universal in New York, NY is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced to provide dependable, flexible coverage at a designated site. This role offers the ability to earn more by picking up additional shifts through our scheduling platform and to progress toward a full-time career with the industry leader.

The position pays $20.05–$21.05 per hour with fixed anchor shifts and an optional Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program.

As a Security Officer Commercial Facility Part Time Patrol Officerin New York, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.05 - $21.05 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeFri08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or delivery personnel at a telecommunications and technology location by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, offices, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and report unusual conditions or unauthorized access attempts.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following emergency response procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear and accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoff communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
