Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer at our Washington, DC location. You will serve at the front desk, greet tenants and visitors, manage access, and respond to security incidents while providing excellent customer service.

The role offers flexible scheduling and opportunities to expand into new shifts via our platform. A Guard Card is preferred, with responsibilities including building surveillance, logs, and incident response in a commercial real estate setting.

Qualifications

• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Monitor access to the building by verifying visitor credentials, following site-specific entry procedures, and directing guests to appropriate destinations.
• Maintain visitor logs, issue and collect access credentials as authorized, and communicate arrivals or deliveries to appropriate building personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific policies and emergency response procedures.
• Support a professional lobby environment by observing and reporting unusual activity, property concerns, and security-related incidents to appropriate personnel.
