Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Verification in Herndon, VA to provide reliable security coverage at a corporate site. The role features fixed anchor shifts and the option to pick up additional shifts through the scheduling platform to increase earnings.

Pay rate is $21.63 per hour. This part‑time position offers evening/night hours, on‑site work, and opportunities to gain experience and advance within the industry.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a technology‑focused corporate location by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, access‑control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout office areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and security‑related issues.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site policies, assisting with directions and supporting a professional workplace environment.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoffs in alignment with Allied Universal and site requirements.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
