Qualifications

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Guard card or license is preferred.

• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Minimum age 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check and drug screen as required by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on location.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at aerospace/defense site.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of facilities, access points, parking areas and perimeters.
• Monitor access control points and verify credentials; report concerns to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents, alarms and critical situations following post orders.
• Prepare activity logs and incident reports; communicate observations to management.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Alarm Panel Patrol in Herndon, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.05 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat: 12:30 AM - 08:00 AM
• Sun: 12:30 AM - 08:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy violations.
• Monitor access control points and verify credentials in accordance with site procedures; document and report access‑related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Prepare accurate activity logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation, and communicate relevant observations to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
