Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer in New York, NY to patrol and protect campus environments. You’ll provide welcoming customer service to students, staff and guests while maintaining a visible security presence and addressing routine concerns.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check conducted in accordance with federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply per state/local regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests while carrying out site-specific security procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, academic spaces, walkways, entrances, parking areas, and perimeters.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, suspicious activity, and safety concerns in a calm, professional manner following reporting protocols.
• Monitor entrances and visitor activity, assist with directions and campus information, and report hazards or policy violations to site personnel.
• Prepare clear incident reports and daily activity logs in line with Allied Universal and site requirements.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, academic spaces, walkways, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, suspicious activity, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and campus information, and report observed hazards, maintenance concerns, or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear and accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and daily activity documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
