Job summary

Allied Universal in Durham, NC is seeking a Part-Time Front Desk Security Officer to greet visitors, verify access, issue badges, and monitor logs. You will support visitors and employees while helping deter incidents and maintain a safe environment.

You will respond to incidents calmly, coordinate with site contacts, and use our Claim a Shift platform to explore additional roles. The position offers weekend night hours with a pay rate of $19 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with access control and badges preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Staff the front desk by greeting visitors, verifying access authorization, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining visitor logs in accordance with site procedures.
• Monitor access points, receive and direct visitors, contractors, and deliveries, and communicate relevant information to site contacts.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Monitor front-desk communications and report suspicious activity, access concerns, and security-related incidents to appropriate personnel.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
