Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment; a valid driver’s license is required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and drivers by carrying out security-related procedures at a busy logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor and control access points for personnel, visitors, and delivery traffic by verifying credentials and documenting entry/exit activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner and escalate as needed.
• Deter unauthorized access, theft, and other security concerns by observing activity at gates, docks, and restricted areas.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, noting issues for follow-up.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Entry Monitor in Durham, NC, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.23 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSat04:00 PM - 12:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a busy logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor and control access points for personnel, visitors, and delivery traffic by verifying credentials, checking authorizations, and documenting entry and exit activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns to site leadership and/or emergency services when appropriate.
• Help to deter unauthorized access, theft, and other security-related concerns by observing activity at gates, docks, and other restricted areas and reporting unusual behavior.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, noting operational or security-related issues that may require follow-up.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
