Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 02:30 PM - 11:00 PM
• Thur 02:30 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sun 02:30 PM - 11:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, staff, visitors, and service providers by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem‑solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the shelter location, including common areas, entrances, exits, parking areas, and perimeter, to help identify and report unusual activity or hazards.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and vendor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and document security‑related activities, incidents, and observations.
• Support a respectful, trauma‑informed environment by communicating professionally with individuals experiencing homelessness and referring concerns to appropriate site personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• A state, county, or city issued security‑related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
