Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer in San Francisco, CA to patrol shelter locations, provide outstanding customer service, and deter security incidents while upholding a welcoming environment for residents and staff.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories as allowed by law.
• A drug screen may be required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and community partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, trauma-informed, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of shelter common areas, entrances, exterior grounds, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and document observations, incidents, and shift activity in required reports.
• Support a respectful and welcoming shelter environment while maintaining professional boundaries and promptly communicating security-related concerns to appropriate site contacts.

What You'll Do

Minimum Requirements

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
